East Coast Interscholastic Equestrian Academy

Our team is hosted by East Coast Equestrian Training Center. The team is comprised of students in grades 6 through 12, from public and private schools! ECIEA competes in the hunt seat against other local IEA teams. The teams compete in their region with the goal of qualifying for regional finals, and then national finals.
We are part of the Zone 3 (Virginia, North Carolina) Region 5.

Our team has a great time learning about riding and competing!

Don't own a horse? No problem! They are provided when you ride as a team member of the ECIEA

Our team members are also eligible to compete for the IEA scholarship awards which can be zone specific, or founders scholarships.

The ECIEA is a non-profit and welcomes sponsors who can provide the assistance to our young team members who learn the opportunity to be competitive and to ride horses along with the opportunity for educational rewards. If you would like to sponsor our young riders, please contact us!

Our team members also participate in fund raising, such as manning the concession stands at the shows at ECETC.

In April 2016 nearly 400 of the nation's leading middle and high school equestrians competed at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia.

Show Dates for the 2017-2018 Season

Coaches will go over what shows are available in our region each season. We keep a list of our home shows on our calendar. All home shows are held at the ECETC show grounds
The IEA also lists additional show dates for the Zone 3 Region 5 show season.
Regional finals are held in March.
